Dialogue on the economic development of Quebec regions

By Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions

Being close to businesses, close to the regions is central to the mission and activities of Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED).

To achieve this, CED has consulted the public and stakeholders to better understand their needs and identify the economic development issues and challenges impacting Quebec SMEs and communities, as well as potential solutions.

The Dialogue on the economic development of Quebec regions is part of the collaborative, open and transparent approach outlined in Canada’s Action Plan on Open Government.

This broad consultation exercise was led by CED in 2016 through an online questionnaire in February, followed in March and April with 12 regional roundtables across Quebec. The roundtables brought together economic development stakeholders from all the regions, as well as citizens, including representatives of Indigenous communities, women’s groups, youth and newcomers. The information gathered through the dialogue is now available in a Summary Report.

Topics discussed in the summary report

The ideas expressed through this initiative will influence CED’s future strategic directions which will guide the Agency’s interventions in the coming years.
